We appreciate your visit and would like to give you an impression of our rainforest project Selva Viva in the Amazonian area of the Ecuadorian rainforest. Selva Viva consists of the following four joint parts:
intentions of Selva Viva
- direct protection of the rainforest
Realized through the purchase of primary rainforest from GSR and others, as well as the protection of about 1000 Ha primary forest at the Rio Arajuno through rangers
- to be a new home for wild animals out of the illegal trade
Realized at the animal rehabilitation centre amaZOOnico
- Offering the visitors a real impression of the rainforest and the Indio-population
Realized with the eco-tourism hotel Liana Lodge, the amaZOOnico and the forest preserve of the GSR
- Furthering a long-term using of the rainforest through the Indio population
Realized with the work of students and scientists and with the eco-tourism
- Building up possibilities of environment-friendly incomes for the Quichua- and Waorani-Indios
Realized with jobs at the Liana Lodge, at the amaZOOnico and the forest preserve SelvaViva, as well as with fair trade with Indian handcraft objects (blow-guns, woven hammocks, wood carved boats etc.)
